By Cathy Carey, Bead Artist: The Murano pieces are so stunning because they are made with 24 ct. gold in the center and when the light hits the colored glass they look lit from within. Some pieces have 99% silver inside for the same effect.

Murano glass and Venetian beads have not gone global, and only beads and glass truly and literally Made in Murano or Made in Venice are allowed to be called Murano Glass Beads or Venetian Beads.
